Derrick Rose's Rape Accuser Wept in Court as Explicit Details of the Alleged Crime Were Announced

Derrick Rose took plenty of flak for playing in the New York Knicks' first preseason game Tuesday night in Houston instead of appearing in court for the onset of his rape trial in Los Angeles.


Well, after Wednesday, chances are things may only heat up for the Knicks point guard and 2011 NBA MVP.

The Associated Press is reporting that the 30-year-old woman, who's accusing Rose and his two friends of rape, wept in court as her lawyer gave a detailed description of the alleged crime. This was included in the opening statements Wednesday, as part of her $21.5 million civil lawsuit against the NBA star.

According to the AP, the woman's lawyer, Waukeen McCoy, said his client was the victim of a "classic gang rape" at the hands of Rose and his friends, Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen.

McCoy added: "The plaintiff will tell you all three men were in the bedroom at the same time. Each of them took turns raping her, they don't even know who went first."

The woman reportedly cried in the courtroom as the six women and two men chosen as jurors Wednesday heard the lurid details of the alleged crime.

Meanwhile, Rose's attorney, Mike Monico, maintained that "there was no gang rape" and "no rape at all," adding that the sex was consensual. Rose and his lawyer also wrote off the woman's lawsuit as nothing more than a cash-grab attempt.

Rose recently told the media, as reported by the Daily Mail: "I wanted to take it to court because I didn't want to settle. I don't feel like I did anything wrong. If I go up there and just tell my side of the story, I think I'll be alright."

Rose, 28, is scheduled to appear in court in L.A. on Thursday as the case continues.
