The Originals Just Killed Off a Major Character—and Possibly Another One, Too?!

Yes. That really just happened on The Originals: not one but TWO of your favorite characters just got killed off. Well, one for sure, and the other...TBD?
It's the end of the road for Cami (Leah Pipes), Klaus' psychology student love—who we saw die in the mid-season finale only to come back as a vampire—and Davina (Danielle Campbell), your favorite teen witch. Death on The Originals doesn't discriminate based on gender (the show already killed off multiple major male characters this season), but both women do add to the unfortunate female body count on TV as of late.
Cami died due to Lucien's poison, with the gang failing to find a way to save her. At least fans were treated to one helluva episode for Klaus and Cami, with the couple exchanging those three little words and going on a real date. (OK, so it was Klaus' imagination, but whatever, we'll take it.) As for Cami's last dying words for Klaus? "All of that anger, that cycle of abuse...you can end it. You have to, so you can be the light for your little girl. For Hope." Chills! And don't even get us started on everyone having their final moment with everyone's favorite bartender/psych major/newbie vamp.
As for Davina, she looked pretty darn dead after her boyfriend Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) sucked her dry at the end of the episode. But is anyone else still holding out hope after seeing Davina in the promo for next week's episode?! Come on, she is a NoLa witch, right?

Turning out attention back to Cami, turning into a vampire brought out the dark side of the character.
"She had these dark impulses that she's been repressing, and being a vampire everything's heightened so those impulses definitely come out more and we'll see that more in her," Pipes told E! News after Cami's big transformation. "But she's still fighting for her beliefs. She's still fighting for the little man. You see her continuing to have very strong morals; she's just more aggressive with her morals now."
Essentially, what Pipes means is that "She is not going to put up with assholes."

When we spoke with Campbell that same month, she told us that Davina didn't really care about the consequences involved in bringing her witch boyfriend, Kol, back to life (which she eventually did).
"I think she's dead set on it," Campbell said at the time. "Because multiple times now she's tried to bring Kol back—that's all she's wanted for seasons now! There's multiple obstacles that come in her way but then there's always another way to bring him back so I think she's not going to stop until she finally gets that. She has no problem flirting with danger, apparently, either."
