Tinder Teams Up With Spotify to Help Break the Ice

The dating app’s new feature lets you judge your date by their music taste

If you’ve ever judged someone by their music taste in the past, now you can do it on Tinder. The dating app just merged forces with music streaming service Spotify to bring you “Tinder Anthem.” The function takes a cue from the days of MySpace and lets users add their favorite song to their profile, meaning love connections can now happen over a mutual appreciation for, let’s say, Young M.A.

Will the new feature  increase your chances of a match?

Tinder CEO Sean Rad put it this way, “Music is an important part of making new connections and getting to know existing ones. Just like you go to the bar that plays your favorite music, you’re likely attracted to the people at that bar who enjoy the same music. We want to do the same thing with the Spotify integration.”

In addition to your “Anthem,” by hooking your Spotify account up to your Tinder profile, you can share your top songs with potential matches and any listening habits you both may have in common. *sings "OOOUUU"*
