MTV MAMAs 2016: Wizkid, Sauti Sol, DJ Maphorisa, C4 Pedro join lineup of stars to perform


 Some of the acts in addition to performing are also up for nominations in various award categories.
Starboy Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, C4 Pedro and Kenya music group Sauti Sol join the rich line-up of music stars to perform at the MAMA 2016.




 
They join the likes of Yemi Alade, Ycee, Cassper Nyovest and Alikiba to  light up the Ticket Pro Dome stage in, Johannesburg,  South Africa.
This year's edition 2016 MTV MAMA awards will be going down on Saturday, October 22, 2016.


South African Hip-hop act Nasty C as well as South African singer Babes Wodumo of 'Wololo' fame are also acts billed to rock the MAMAs Jo'burg stage.
The previous edition of the awards  held in Durban, South Africa saw Psquare winning Artist of the Decade, Best Group Award, D’banj won MTV Evolution Award,  Davido went home with African Best Male Artist, and Yemi Alade Best Female.

American rapper and Hip hop act Future has been announced as the international act to perform at the event.

Trevor Noah will be hosting the sixth edition of the awards.

First staged in 2008, the MTV Africa Music Awards has recognised the talent of musicians, achievers and personalities from across Africa, rewarding iconic artists and gamechangers such as 2Face Idibia,, Davido, D’Banj, Flavour, Fally Ipupa, Liquideep, Mafikizolo among others.

The MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 will broadcast live on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and MTV (DStv Channel 130) on Saturday October 22 at 21:00CAT. The show will also be transmitted worldwide on partner stations and content platforms from October onwards.
